An Update from Prodigy - Q4 2024

As we embark on another winter and reflect on 2024, all we can be is grateful. From the crowning achievement of Isaac Robinson's second consecutive world title, bringing new and innovated products like our Fractal aesthetic to market, the expansion of our US made driver options, and the introduction of our licensed college disc program - our push and relentless drive to help disc golfers find their flight only continued as Prodigy enters its second decade as an industry leader in innovation.

As we head into 2025, we're doing our homework and a thorough review of our entire lineup, checking in to make sure molds meet the mark of quality we expect and consumers are looking for. In taking a hard look at our disc line-up, we asked simply "is this needed?" or "can this be done better?" Taking those into account, we have decided to end production on 11 molds.

There's a few factors that went into the decision to end production on these discs. Our primary factors included quality control, sales figures, and the overall function of the disc. We are striving to ensure each disc we put out is something you'd love to throw as much as we do. If a disc failed measure up in these key areas, we decided it needed to go.

This is not to say one of these slots in the line-up won't be revisited in the future, but as it stands the current iteration of these discs will not be produced, the current inventory we have available now will be all we carry until it's gone. This is part of our continued push to stay updated and focused on delivering the best product to any player. We're excited about the future of the lineup, including upcoming additions like the new and improved M5 among others. No spoilers, but we think you're going to love what's next.

Part of growth is acknowledging what needs fixing. Over the last decade of Prodigy's manufacturing history, we can look back and see moments where we delivered quality products regularly for consumers. However, we also are realistic and understand that there was a time where we fell short of what we needed to do to delivery quality. This includes times where disc flashing was present, discs became chalky, or just didn't fly the way they needed to. It wasn't good enough, we needed to take action.

This meant a focused priority on improving production processes and quality checks, developing molds that have the hand feel and flight in mind, and pushing to ask the question "is this a best example of what we can do?" As a result, we've put fourth discs that are among the best in terms of quality and performance. Our newest molds are some of our best work, with discs like the PA-5, A5, FX-4, and Archive making a strong impact in the disc golf world.

This drive for quality has taken some time to rise above the shortcomings we have experienced and we still have work to do, but we're proud of the product we're making today. To those who have seen our shortcomings of the past: we'd love to show you what we've done recently - you might be surprised with what you find. 

In this lineup includes the debut of a few new plastic combinations, such as AIR Glow and 400 Ultra Soft. This is one of the largest collections we've dropped for a single release ever. Boasting Several of our newest US made disc additions, these discs were meticulously selected to bring you some of the best of what we're making right now.

Our 400 Ultra Soft offerings and the Lightbringer F9 will also be available at your local Prodigy retailers!
