Great disc with touch

The A5 can handle forehand hyzer approaches without turning over while also holding an anhyzer line for great escape scramble shots. It has a touch less fade than a Zone and because of that is useful in more situations for me.

I really like having a straighter option to complement my beefy approach disc for forehand shots, and normally have achieved this by beating in base-plastic. And while this is a viable option, I have been wanting a disc that had these flight characteristics in a premium plastic such that it would hold that sweet spot for longer.

This is that disc.

This A5 carries farther than my beefy approach disc and has a really nice straight flight with a predictable fade at the end (~1 month of use). It is also surprisingly torque-resistant.

The disc I got was penned 177g, scaled 176.5g, and puddle-top (yay!). The plastic is pretty gummy but not excessively soft. I normally prefer more firm discs, but this feels so good in the hand, and being an approach disc, the gummy characteristic can actually be desirable to limit ground-play (especially for a straighter option where you are probably taking more aggressive lines).

But while I got this disc to use for forehands, it is not just a utility disc. The A5 is really good for backhands. It has a flight similar to what you'd expect from something like a Jawbreaker Zone for forehands and a premium plastic Envy for backhands. In other words, it is a phenomenal disc that can probably fill multiple slots in your bag for your short game.
