Prodigy Disc and Mint Discs Announce Manufacturing Partnership

Prodigy Disc is proud to announce a new manufacturing partnership with Mint Discs. With this new partnership, we'll be working with the Texas-based company to create new discs that will join their growing lineup, starting this month with the Idol Distance Driver.
Mint was founded in 2015 and is led by Zach Jansen, Guy Boyan, and Chris Herbert. They are based out of the Sprinkle Valley Disc Golf Course in Austin, Texas. In that time, they have amassed an impressive portfolio in the disc golf world, earning a strong reputation for bringing high-quality discs and hosting incredible events within the Texas disc golf community.
In 2017, Mint launched the first disc under their brand: the Alpha. From that point, Mint never looked back, with over 20 discs now approved by the PDGA in the eight years that followed. While working on the day-to-day needs of Mint's customers, Zach and Guy also maintain and manage the course at Sprinkle Valley, which is now no stranger to large events. Sprinkle Valley was one of four courses that welcomed over 300 players for the United States Women's Disc Golf Championships in 2024, and most recently hosted The Open At Austin DGPT Elite event this year.

With this new agreement, Prodigy will bring its expertise and focus on quality to the table for Mint. The goal is to elevate the experience with high-quality discs with quick turnarounds, meeting the needs of Mint's growing fan base. Prodigy will produce discs in our warehouse in Georgia and send them to Texas, where Mint will continue its trademark tradition of stamping and placing a serial number on every disc that leaves the shop.
"This is a really exciting opportunity for us," said Prodigy CEO Will Schusterick. "The trust the guys at Mint have put in us is a testament to how hard we have worked on our production quality and capabilities. We look forward to showcasing our expertise as a leading manufacturer in the sport together with Mint."

To start, Mint will be launching the Idol: a high-speed, distance driver that gives players a great balance of distance and reliable stability. This new driver will debut in red, white, and blue as part of the player packs at Mint's The Sizzler, an upcoming B-tier in Junction, TX on July 26-27, 2025. Mint will also host a launch party for the Idol on August 2, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, at Sprinkle Valley Disc Golf Course in Austin, TX where folks can try out the disc and catch 2025 Pro Worlds together as the action unfolds in Finland.
