Women’s disc golf continues to grow around the world, and the 2023 United States Women's Disc Golf Championship is expecting close to 350 players to compete across more than 20 professional and amateur divisions in search of a PDGA Major championship.
The USWDGC changes location each season, and this year's event will be in Burlington, North Carolina, with the FPO division playing every round on the new Regulator course at Cedarock Park
Since 2013, two Prodigy players have won the USWDGC - Sarah Hokom (2013), Catrina Allen (2014). We asked some of the women competing in this year's event what Prodigy discs they rely on and will be throwing at the Major.
Lykke Lorentzen, 2023 DGPT Championship Finalist
“The Prodigy Collabs Series Cale Leiviska Stryder in 400 plastic is the first midrange disc I really fell in love with. It has a ton of glide and some fade. It flies great both in the woods and out in the open.”
Hannah Stefanovich, 2023 New York State Champion
"It is my 500 plastic F5 fairway driver with a maximum weight. I recommend this disc for its versatility. It's one of my straightest flying discs and I've been heavily relying on it in the woods."
Chantel Budinsky also recommends the F5: “The F5 is a great disc for anyone that wants a slower, workable disc that is easy to manipulate. It’s perfect for the wooded course we play for USWDGC.”
Nina Guerrero, 3x Charlie Vettiner Open Champion
“My favorite disc that Prodigy offers is the P Model OS in the ProFlex plastic. It is the most used disc in my bag. I like to forehand and backhand it, and it's great on windy days and when you need to trust a slow approach to the basket.”
Chantel Budinsky, 2023 AFDO Champion
“The D3 distance driver is my all-time favorite disc model. They go so far, especially the 400 plastic, and the flight is amazing. There's also enough stability that you always know where it's going to finish without sacrificing glide.”
Kaidi Allsalu, 2023 Copenhagan Open EPT #1 Champion
“I’ll go with Isaac Robinson’s 2023 Signature Series M4 in 500 Spectrum plastic. It has a good glide and flies so straight.”
