Waco: A Brand New Midrange Made For The Pro Tour
Pros will like it for pinpoint midrange shots with a gentle fade and soft finish. Amateurs will find it slightly overstable new, but perfect to work into a straight flier.
The Prodigy Disc Waco is a straight-shooting midrange debuting at the Prodigy Presents WACO Disc Golf Pro Tour event March 7-10, 2024. The Waco midrange is an exclusive release to the eponymous DGPT+ tournament and was designed with the formidable Brazos Park East course in mind, as the shapeable workhorse disc is fit to tame the BEast.
“It’s unprecedented to have a disc designed for the unique characteristics of a specific course and share a name with an event. I'm honored that WACO will be the first to do that,” said Ryan Draper, WACO Tournament Director. “Prodigy has been an outstanding partner since 2020 and this exclusive new midrange marking our fifth season together shows their commitment and belief in what we’re doing.”
“Ryan and the WACO staff have been great to work with and we are thrilled to be the sponsor of the first DGPT Elite+ event,” said Mark Anderson, CEO of Prodigy Disc. “We think providing an exclusive mold to help raise funds for the event and player purse will elevate the game for all involved.”
All players registered for the WACO Amateur & Age-Protected event March 8-10 will receive a Waco midrange in Special Blend plastic with the new dual-foil longhorn stamp as part of their player pack, as well as a PA-1 putt & approach disc in the new 300 Fractal plastic.
Limited edition Waco midranges in 500 Glimmer, 750 Spectrum, and Special Blend plastics will be exclusively available during the WACO DGPT+ event at Legit Disc Golf vending locations. Spectators will also have the opportunity to purchase a Waco midrange with select ticket packages through the DGPT Eventbrite listing. Can’t attend WACO? The Waco midrange will be for sale on LegitDiscGolf.com beginning Monday, March 11, 2024.

The Waco is a beadless midrange which slots into the Prodigy lineup between the Isaac Robinson Archive and M3. Brand new, the Waco will glide easily and have a forgiving fade that lacks the bite of more overstable mids while remaining dependable. As it gets more wear and breaks in, the Waco will become essential for touch flex shots through the woods that can maneuver through a gap and hook up for a soft finish at low speeds. Fans of the prototype M2 will find the hand feel of the Waco to be very similar.
The Waco midrange release coincides with three additional new stamps coming from Prodigy for WACO. Like the Waco mid, an exclusive release of Dallas Stars-stamped A2 approach discs in the new 300 Fractal plastic, and F7 fairway drivers in green 400 plastic will be available on-site only at the DGPT+ event at Prodigy vending locations. The first chance to see the new 2024 Signature Series discs will also be on-site in Waco, and a limited stock will be available to purchase.
A Texas-themed Limited Edition A3 approach disc in Special Blend plastic and “Sheriff Rippit” D4 distance driver in AIR Spectrum plastic will be at the event and released on ProdigyDisc.com before WACO on February 29, 2024.
