An understable distance driver is designed for long distance, right-turning flights for a right hand backhand throw. These understable discs are slightly larger in diameter and are best suited for beginners when thrown with a flat release, though professionals use them on certain shots as well. Compared to stable drivers and overstable drivers, an understable disc golf driver is designed to move more to the right when thrown backhand by a right hander, and have a less pronounced fade back to the left at the end of the flight.
