Description

The Prodigy Disc X5 is an understable, low profile, high-speed distance driver. It is great for all players. Players with lower arm speed will get a lot more glide and distance. Players with moderate arm speed will be able to get a long flight out of this disc by throwing a slight hyzer flip. (Left edge down about 20% from flat at release). For players with faster arm speed, the X5 will flip early in its flight path and will turn right, with a soft finish to the left making it useful for wooded holes that require shaping the shot. It will also be great for long controlled rollers. The X5 performs very well at low heights and in tunnel shots.

400 Plastic is a premium blend of materials that is extremely durable and gives the thrower an impeccable grip, even when it is wet. It is the most popular Prodigy plastic across the entire lineup of discs. While 400 Plastic is often known for its translucent properties, which catch the sunlight well for pronounced colors in the daytime, it can also be more opaque. 400 plastic has a stiff rim and more “pop” when you flex the center of the disc.

Great distance driver for slower arm speeds!

I was in the process of getting rid of all the distance drivers in my bag because I found I wasn't throwing them any farther than my fairway drivers (I'm and older player so I don't have great arm speed). Then I found an X5 that someone had lost. I tried it out just for laughs, and was so surprised I went out and bought one for myself! The understable performance works well for my forehand-only game.

Flight numbers not as advertised

This disc is honest-to-god the biggest meat hook in my bag. It's genuinely more stable than my new firebird. I have decentish power (max distance around 360-370) but I can't get this disc to do anything but dump HARD. I've never had a disc with flight numbers so different than advertised.

400 spectrum X5

This disc was far more stable than was promoted. Not sure if it was just the plastic or not, but it is not flippy in the least. Even my dominant forehand snap, which can get some flat flight out of a D2 to go 360ft, was unable to get the disc to level out and perform as desired, smashing the ground at just over 300ft.
After building an entire Prodigy Bag this is my only disappointment to date, otherwise their data is sound!

Love this disc

I am fairly new to disc golf. I have bought many prodigy discs and have decided this is the brand I want to throw. I have the latest bag and love it!
I have a red X5 and absolutely love how this disc throws (for me). I was told I might not like it due to I do not throw hard. I have played with it only a few times and I tell ya what. I already know where the disc is going to fly for me. I love how lightweight it is and soft. I have RA and it is very hard for me to grip discs. This brand is very soft and easy to use. I have also started using the disc golf gloves, which I highly recommend for any one with arthritis.

Maybe a bit much for me...

I'm a slower thrower so don't have a great place for these high speed discs. My son loves it though.
